Of course, tomorrow is the First Page Blogfest, but I'll find a way to fit that in. Oh yes... B is for Blogfest! :p Make sure you check out my blog tomorrow for the first page of The Goddess of Vengeance Wore Pink Galoshes!
So without further ado... A is for April!
I know, it's a bit obvious. Here's what's going on in my (admittedly boring, but busy) life in April:
- M.J. is starting a new job! This is so exciting for us.
- I am traveling 2-3 weeks out of the month for work.
- BIG report due at work by the end of the month.
- Research paper due and final exam for my Stats class.
- M.J. and I need to buy a new car, since we currently share one and we aren't going to be able to manage carpooling forever -- new job is too far from mine.
- We still haven't done our taxes. That needs to get done ASAP! I've never waited this long before!
- Not sure it's going to happen, but I am *hoping* to finish painting the half bath, master bathroom, and the guest room. The teenage girl who previously occupied the room that is now for our guests painted two walls bright blue and two walls yellow. I seriously may die if I don't get that mess painted over soon.
The big question, of course, is when am I going to write? I am going to try and keep my life simple this April. I'll do my daily blog post, and try to write 250 words of Goddess every day. That's... not a lot (7500 words), but it's progress.
I also have Agent's Idol to attend in April, where we get to read our first three pages and be ripped apart by the nice agents (I am really excited about this, don't let me fool you).
I need to make some changes to my life to make more time to write. That's just easier said than done. But that's another blog post. I'm debating how to make things better right now, what can be sacrificed.
For now, though, I just finished helping a friend move, and my To-Do list is a mile long, so back to work for me. Thanks for listening to me ramble, if you've read this far... I'm stressed and frustrated right now. There's just no time to do everything. At moments like this, the words of Dori from Finding Nemo always come to me...
Keep on swimming, keep on swimming...
Does anything have you stressing out this about this month? On the positive side, what are you looking forward to? (I'm looking forward to Agent Idol, beautiful running weather, getting a massage/pedi/haircut at the spa, and being all touristy at the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C.!)

Agent Idol? That sounds awesome. I had my first page read out loud and ripped apart by a Dial editor, Nathan Bransford, and a published author.
I learned so much.
Sounds like your April will be jam-packed. But some exciting stuff in that list!
Wow busy as a bee! Congrats on MJ's new job!!!
I really think I should join the bandwagon on the A to Z Blogging, not sure whats stopping me!
Well the stressors happen with the positives, I am leaving for Los Angeles next week for a wedding, Positive because its my awesome friend! Negative, never been and nervous on flying and driving... that stress's me out but we'll make it thanks to the hubby!!
Congrats on the new job and have fun car shopping! Agent Idol sounds nifty- I was able to have Janet Reid read the first pages of my second draft. It was eye opening and made a huge impact on my editing.
Good luck!
Karen, I'm glad to hear the reading was a good experience for you! I'm looking forward to it, but I'm nervous too.
Jen, you should definitely do A to Z blogging too! I'd love to read your posts. Have fun at the wedding! It's a nightmare to drive in, it's true, but LA is a great place!
Stephanie, I'm glad to hear that you had a good experience with having Janet Reid read, too!
Yay, more A-Z bloggers! I'm in there too :-)
Wow..that sounds really terrifying!! But I bet it will be really helpful!!
I plan to take April kinda easy...I have been editing for nearly a year now and I still have more projects to edit. If things go the way I want, they will be accepted for publication and therefore, thrust into the editing process with my editor. :)
Congrats on all the exciting things to come, such as MJ's new job and the Agent Idol (which sounds awesome!). Looks like April's going to be a great month!
Hey, congrats on MJ's new job! Sounds like you've got quite the month ahead of you!
Nothing much new for me. I go back to see my surgeon on the 12th and hope to get good news from him.
Other than that...just making it through til May, which is my birthday and anniversary month! Yay!
I'm doing the A-Z thing too, so I'll be looking out for you!
Wait; I'll make you a list of the stress plagueing me. It might take a month to finish though.
I hear you on wanting more time to write. I'm taking two weeks off the end of May just for that.
And if I'm very brave, maybe I'll send a few query letters during that time.
Good luck with the a-z blogging.
.........dhole
My, you do have a hectic life, Agent Idol has me intrigued.
Good luck with this challenge will be back for sure.
Have a happy day.
Yvonne.
Charmaine, thanks for stopping by! I'm looking forward to reading more of your A-Z posts... so fun!
Stephanie, it seems like so much of the writer's life is actually editing! I hope you have a wonderful April and that your projects find their proper homes! :)
Shelley, it's going to be busy and with a lot of stress/change, but it should also be a great month! Thanks!
Summer, I hope you get good news from the doc! I can't wait for May myself... I'm excited as a kid about summer vacation, even if I do still have to work (no more school!). :p
Donna, I think it's awesome you're taking two weeks off to write! I hope you have a very productive and FUN time!
Yvonne, I will definitely be blogging about Agent Idol on the 19th (how does that fit into the alphabet thing? I'll find a way to make it fit!) and tweeting about it when it happens on the 18th. It should be an interesting experience!
So much good stuff going on! Yea! Agent Idol sounds great...good luck! And I hope you have a great trip to D.C. I live down the road and am happy to relate that the weather is fabulous, the cherry blossoms are heavenly, and people are really happy and up-beat after our horrid winter. Enjoy!! (Oh, if you haven't been before, carry some nibbles as vendors aren't everywhere so as not to spoil the trees' beauty.)
