Happy Valentine's Day!

May this commercialized and artificial day none the less be full of true warmth, affection and love for you, dear readers.

MJ and I are celebrating with a day full of movies, snuggling and Chinese takeout, so I will keep it brief and leave you with one of my favorites of my own poems--

SPOILED

I have everything, a fact I accept
Like the child born into privilege.
Pleased but not grateful, I enjoy
Rain beating steadily on the roof,
Tears salty-wet on my lips,
That mischievous sheen in your eyes.
A night without any stars at all,
Dark without a shiver of light,
A morning that tastes of promise
as the sky blushes with that first glow.
Emerging from the warmth
Into a world of immense puddles
And the smell, the world all wild,
Like Noah’s first breath after the flood.
Away from quilts and coffee,
And you and I talking all night.
We accept, you and I, that this
Is everything, that we have everything,
The spoiled children of this earth.

Valentine's day is basically single awareness day. But it also proves the character of a man if you are dating someone.
