Happy Labor Day! Summer Writing!

Happy Labor Day, all! I'm spending today organizing closets, shopping, doing laundry and getting ready for the frenetic fall months ahead  (Grad school starts again tomorrow! I'm taking classes and working part-time as a TA! Writing classes start the 15th! NaNoWriMo is coming in November! And I still have that pesky full-time day job!). What are you doing this Labor Day?

Some of us were trying to write a novel this summer (here's the old post about it), with a goal of finishing before Labor Day. Mine was The Goddess of Vengeance Wore Pink Galoshes. Blessedly finished a few days ago - I was thinking I might not make it for my own challenge!

So how did the summer writing go for everyone else?  If you weren't participating in the challenge, did you still have a good writing summer?

And who's doing NaNoWriMo? I'm already looking forward to the fall (and also nervous about my crazy schedule, but hey...).

I'm doing NaNo! My username is summerbp, if you want to go on and buddy me. I'm very excited for it. :)

I finished the challenge, but now I'm working on revisions, which are killing me...ugh...

But my husband built an addition to my desk over the weekend, so right now I'm having fun revamping my office design. :)

I think I'll give that a miss as I'm having an awful re-write and am so in revision hell! LOL!

Happy Labour Day!!

Hey hey! Wow, it's Labor Day already...

I'm happy to say that I finished my summer novel with time to spare, and even completed the first round of revisions a few weeks ago. I really pushed myself and had great momentum in the beginning. I wrote the first eight chapters in eight days! But then real life got in the way, and the second half of the book took a bit longer. It's a children's book, so it clocks in at 30K instead of like 80K for an adult novel. So I kind of feel like I cheated. :-P

I'm now trying to balance the second round of revisions with my day job and other obligations. You sound even busier than I am, Guinevere! Best of luck with it all! :)

Hi, I´m a new follower. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and thanks for your nice comment! I'm writing at the moment, almost every single day now, and - maybe - finally something is actually happening! (Have been writing almost all my life, but it never turned into a real thing...) Did a writer's class in June ("Work in Progress" was the title), and it helped me a lot!
Good luck with your writing!

Mine was more about editing LOL. And I am starting school up too so NaNo is not going to be possible because finals will be thrown in that month. I don't want to go crazy!!! LOl. But I am starting a new project, in the outline part and trying to figure that out. Hopefully by NOV I will be in the middle of it : )
Good Luck in NOV everyone!

I did not finish by Labor Day... I had an incredibly productive May and June and incredibly dry July and August. Now that the school year is in full swing, I'm hoping to be more consistent in writing this year.

I managed to get quite a bit of revising done, but after receiving some great advice I'm diving back in :)

Good luck with NaNoWrimo! I'm impressed that you're able to work full-time and as a T.A. while going to school. That's a lot! But good for you!
This summer I finished a draft of my first novel and started a draft of my second one. So even though I watched way too many crime dramas this summer, I still feel good about my writing.
