Wednesday Weekly

I'm trying to get back into my posting schedule after the chaos of the past few weeks! Unfortunately, I don't have much to report for the Wednesday Weekly, so this will be a short post and a jumping-off point for future weeks:

First of all, I started rewriting Bodie's Men in the first person. I only had a few thousand words written in third person, so no big deal. I actually don't mean to work on Bodie's Men at all right now, since my focus is on revisions for Shards and writing Goddess.  It just sort of happened. Bodie's Men, 1st Person, is at 516 words. And it should stay there for a while as I work on these other projects! I am not that much of a multitasker.

The Goddess of Vengeance Wore Pink Galoshes now weighs in at 7,118 words. I can't weight to spend some of my vacation time working on this book. It's written up so quickly and painlessly so far, and I was even able to add to it during the last terrible month of fourteen-hour workdays and statistics homework (I am so over this full-time dayjob with crazy hours and school, but unfortunately it's something I have to work around).

Shards of Glass revisions? Well, I have it printed out and I have a red pen. Doesn't that count for anything?

My goals for this next week are to bring Goddess up to 10k words, and revise the first 50 pages of Shards of Glass.

OMG, and I have so many amazing books to read right now. I love you, local library! I have The Everafter and Magic Under Glass and I Capture the Castle and House Rules: A Novel and a bunch of others.

Lastly, I am caught up on work and school right now, if not sleep. I am going on vacation for a few days (thank you, destination wedding bride!) but I expect to return to my regular blogging schedule. I've missed you all! I can't wait to go visit the blogs of the new followers from the contest as well as my old friends. :)

How's your week been? What's the planned reading/writing for the week ahead?

Yay!!! I'm glad to see you back for a bit! Sounds like you have really hit the ground running on several of your WIPs!!! Good luck on the revision of Shards, yes printing it out with a red pen handy is certainly a start!!!

I am not up to 57K words for my current WIP and plan to be closing it out by the end of next month and beginning the second installment and revisions! So right now it's going very well! I'm reading The Body Finder and hate putting it down! I just don't have a lot of time to read it so putting it down really is a struggle!

I'm glad you're back too, even if you're about to leave again. :-)

I love the idea of the Pink Galoshes story, so I'm excited that you're making good progress on it!

I'm a few thousand from "finishing" my sci-fi novel, though there are plenty of revisions to do right off the bat, but I'm still excited.

Enjoy your destination wedding! Hope it's somewhere warm...

Wow you are busy! I'm doing my final (?) edit of my book before sending it to my final (?) beta readers. One has already read it but loved it so much she wants to read it again. That's a good sign, right?

After that, I have to finish one outline, start another, and I have one waiting for me to write the first draft (which is on hold for a while). Whew!

The Goddess of Vengeance Wore Pink Galoshes???

Awesome title! Makes me want to rush to the bookstore, come home with the book, turn off the cell phone and curl up in my favorite sunny reading spot and dig in.

I wandered over here after you left a comment on my blog, and I am bookmarking you so I don't miss your publication date. =)

Best wishes in all you do,
Shadowspring

Wow, you've got a lot on your plate. And sounds like you've got some terrific writing done. Actually, statistics alone would weigh me down. That's not an easy course. Enjoy your vacation. You've earned it!

Sounds like you've got some great things going! I had a busy Monday and Tuesday, so I took today to have some down time and hopefully get some writing done. I'm also rewriting a MS in first person (except it's 100K long), and I'm a little more than halfway done with that, so that's what I'm going to try to work on today.

Have fun at the destination wedding!

Hi, stranger - good to have you back (even temporarily). :-)

It sounds like you've been productive. Yay! Keep at it.

Writing plans at present are to get it in when I can. I work all weekend and therefore will spend most of my time complaining about how I have to work all weekend. Hopefully I'll get some writing done between complaints.

Have a good trip!

Hi Guinevere. I found your blog after noticing that you follow Tracy's (Forever Endeavor).

I love that title of the goddess with the galoshes, it sounds hilarious. I'm impressed that you can find inspiration for so many projects at once, that's commendable! I tell myself with work and kids that I only have time for one project at a time but it sounds like you're pretty busy too.

Anyway I've become a follower of your blog. Please feel free to visit mine and do the same.

Thanks!

My writing never goes where I predict. I want to finish up the short story that a publisher suggested some revisions and a re-submit; there's the new fantasy to add another chapter to; critique group has a monthly news letter that wants an article for, and then there's coming up with inspiring posts for my blogg.

And comments on bloggs of everyone I know.

What am I actually focusing on? Well, I certainly commiserate with you Guin; I'm working my fingers off at the day job.

Sad, how paying the bills now becomes a priority.

Reading: what's reading a book? Oh, I did get hooked on Sookie Stackhouse - curse my co-worker for loaning it to me. Now I have another reason not to write. .

Just popping over from Donna's blog! You've got a lot going on girl! Looking forward to reading more.

I'm from N.VA too! Living in FL now but still have lots of family up that way! :)

Hope you have a productive week!

Wow Jen, you are flying through your WIP! The Body Finder is on reserve for me at the library, I can't wait to pick it up -- sounds like a great read!

Summer, good luck finishing up the sci-fi novel and doing revisions! We're in FL right now... it's kept me busier than I expected, but a good time!

Stina, sounds like we're in the same boat with much work to do on many projects! :) But hey, as a writer, that's a good situation to be in.

Thanks so much, Shadowspring! Hopefully, someday. :)

Thanks Kittie! Stats is definitely keeping me busy... speaking of which, I should probably take my textbook pool-side and do some HW.

Shelley, I hope your first person switch is going well! That sounds really tedious, but it's amazing what a difference the right POV means!

Hi Shannon! Not as productive as I'd like to be, but I'm on the tortoise program, not the hare program, so everything counts. :)

E. Elle, you sound like me! lol. I had to work the weekend a few weeks ago... not fun.

Hi Matthew! Thanks for visiting.

Me too, Shelli -- thanks for coming to say hi!

Donna, I feel your pain! When my day job needs me to work long hours, that's it... my writing life (and personal life, for that matter) have to wait. So frustrating!

And thanks for the award! :) I'll post it in a few days. Yay! I love new awards.

Hi Kelly! Thanks for coming by. We live in Northern VA, but have a lot of family in FL -- in fact, I'm visiting my family now! :)
